In childcare, there are moments when parents need support at short notice. We understand that very well. Still, Nidino deliberately does not offer ad-hoc care for families who are not yet enrolled in a Nidino day care family. And there are good reasons for that.
We stand for stable child groups
Children need reliable relationships. A place where they know who is there, how the daily routine works, and where they can feel safe. Spontaneous care would undermine this foundation: children would enter an environment they do not know – without a trusted person and without orientation.
Our day care families only function well when the group of children gets to know each other over time and grows together. Every new person changes the group dynamic. When care is planned, this happens gently – not spontaneously.
Children need attachment in order to settle in well
Attachment does not develop in passing. A child needs time to build trust, get to know the caregiver, and arrive emotionally. If a child only visits for a few hours or days, this relationship cannot be established. It is not pedagogically meaningful and often leads to stress for everyone involved.
At Nidino, we understand care as relationship work – not as a short-term emergency solution. We are not a place for occasional, spontaneous care. We are a place for continuous development and secure relationships.
Short-notice additional care for families who are already with Nidino
For families whose children are already cared for in a Nidino day care family, there is of course the option of flexible additional hours if short-term support is needed.
The difference is clear:
These children know their caregiver, the routines, the space, and the other children. A secure attachment is already in place – which is why an occasional extension of care time is pedagogically feasible.
Responsibility towards child and parents
Parents should be able to rely on their child being well supported – emotionally, socially, and developmentally. This requires preparation, information, coordination, and a proper introduction. None of this is possible with spontaneous requests without an existing relationship to the day care family.
That is why we remain clear
Nidino stands for reliable relationships and continuous childcare – not for short-term solutions without attachment.
